(Don’t) Put Your Drink On The Console
Producer / mixer Brad Wood has been trolling us for years on Instagram, tagging us in photos of beverages placed atop his 5060 Centerpiece desktop mixer.
Invariably, these posts elicit genuine concern from the recording community.
Why do this, Brad? Our service team loves taking care of our customers, but this is obviously not covered by our 3-year warranty.
We finally decided to confront Brad about it and find out why such a smart, successful producer and mixer of so many great artists (Veruca Salt, Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Smashing Pumpkins) has been repeatedly making such an ill-advised choice and openly posting about it on the internet.

We don’t want to spoil the video, but it turns out Brad’s not quite as misguided as one might think. In fact, we’ve been making jokes about putting drinks on consoles for a long time too, so we get it.
Regardless, we’re glad Brad finally had an opportunity to clear his name and issue a PSA on this dangerous, misguided, warranty-voiding topic. Thank you, Brad. You did the right thing.
