The 5254: How Does It Sound?
Whenever we release a new product, the first question out of nearly anyone’s mouth is always the same: How does it sound?
The best way to answer that question is to physically get the gear into your studio and try it on your own tracks and mixes. But this isn’t always possible, so we’ve created a new series of videos to help.
Originally developed for the dynamics circuit of the acclaimed Shelford Channel, the 5254 Dual Diode Bridge Compressor captures the soul of Rupert Neve’s original 2254 compressor while providing modern updates including advanced timing control, significantly lower noise, fully stepped controls throughout, and internal parallel processing capabilities.
These videos don’t go through each and every control setting, but they should give you a good idea of what the 5254 can do on a number of different sources. Give them a listen, and keep an eye out for more “How Does It Sound?” videos on our other gear in the future.
