Our equipment hits the road with a lot of artists these days, but it’s not every day that we spot it on tour with a hit musical-comedy duo from New Zealand.
Flight of the Conchords recently came to Los Angeles for two sold-out performances at the Greek Theater for the Netflix Is A Joke Festival. After the shows, their long-time FOH Engineer Mike Leach sent us a few exceedingly kind words about his RND gear.
Thank you Mike, and thank you Bret and Jemaine for all the laughs.

“Push the fader up. Wow! That sure sounds great!! Not much to it. Rupert, you pretty much took care of all of the engineering for me. Was that your plan all along?
The richness, clarity, and character of both Shelford and Newton channels are exceptional. It’s nearly impossible to make any source running through these units sound bad. I think the only way to disservice these channel strips is to turn them off. But I’m not convinced that would even do it.
I had been waiting for a while to get my hands (fingers) on a Master Bus Processor and once I finally did I asked myself “what the hell was I waiting for?” Just having the MBP inserted on the main outs added a glorious sheen to my mix. And THEN I started tweaking. And a little goes a long way – a gentle squeeze here, a sprinkle of Red Silk there, and a dash of width on top of a mix I was already very happy with…it was taken to another level.
I don’t ever want to mix without these again.”
