On Tour with Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin’s FOH Engineer recently sent us an email about how he’s using his RND gear on tour, and we wanted to share it with you all.

“My name is Jorge Frontera; I am FOH for Ricky Martin amongst other Latin super stars. Right now, I am currently on the US Leg of the Enrique Iglesias Ricky Martin Tour, doing 27 shows in various cities of the US and Canada.”

“Right now, I’m using the Shelford Channel and 5045 [Primary Source Enhancer] on Ricky’s vocals. I have a direct out from my Digico SD5 to the Shelford; from the Shelford, I go to the 5045, and then back to the Digico. For me, these two pieces are essential for tailoring Ricky’s vocal sound.”

“The Shelford Channel gives me the color and headroom that I need. The Texture/Silk control is incredible; I quickly get the right sound in the show's first song.”

“Fifty percent of the show, Ricky is singing in front of the PA, on a long runway, and the 5045 is my secret weapon to control that scenario.”

“I am looking forward to trying the Portico II Master Buss Processor!”
