Plum House Miami and the 5088

Thanks for joining us! Can you please tell us a bit about the studio?

Plum House is a professional boutique style recording studio secluded in Miami's prime location, minutes from South Beach, Wynwood and Miami Airport. Plum House has become a melting pot of international artists, producers and engineers from all over the world – here are some of our clients:

Who was involved in the studio's design & build, and the 5088’s configuration?

The studio was designed by The Bentley design group and Ryan Dillon.

The wiring and configuration was designed by Ross Alexander.

How did you first hear about Rupert Neve Designs, and the 5088?

I have always been a fan of Rupert Neve EQs because of the bold, warm, upfront sound that gives your mix the body that's needed to bring your record to life – especially the 1064, 1073, and 1084 vintage designs.

When it comes to the 5088, a great friend of mine Aston Barrett Junior – also known as Family Man's son, the legendary bass player from Bob Marley and the Wailers group – along with David Lyons from Sonic Circus were the perfect salesmen that Rupert Neve could find.

Why is investing in high-end analog sound important to you and your clients?

Investing in high end analog is important because the analog sound has a rich naturalness that often exhibits a unique character that adds a pleasant coloration and texture to the music.

Plum House Miami always strives to provide its clients with the best recording environment. Coming from a Solid State Logic Duality 48 channel console, we eventually upgraded to the 5088. I was able to create this extra headroom within my audio path that was easily noticeable to our clients.

The console sound is rich, warm, great clarity in the mids. Great headroom. I like the simplicity, analog metering, how easy the frame is to configure with other modules.
