The audio community lost a giant of the industry with the recent passing of Rupert Neve. For the March meeting, AES-LA and Rupert Neve Designs will be reflecting on Mr. Neve’s long history and storied career.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Rupert Neve, whose name is synonymous with quality audio recording equipment worldwide, has died. He remained in great spirits to the end, enjoying his life in Wimberley, Texas, where he and his wife Evelyn have lived for 27 years. At 94, Rupert remained engaged and passionate about his work, spending most days on a perpetual series of audio electronics projects and continuing to mentor our engineering team on numerous design and development projects.

The Rupert Neve Designs Summing Family consists of the 5057 Orbit, 5059 Satellite, and 5060 Centerpiece. Each is based on the summing architecture of the flagship 5088 mixing console and provides the legendary tone, depth, and clarity of a Rupert Neve-designed class-A mix buss – but with varying feature sets and channel counts depending on your needs.
