The 5088 Custom LEGO® Building Set is Back (and Bigger…Again)

*UPDATE: As of December 18th, 2023 at 12:07pm EST, these sets have now sold out.*

Congratulations to everyone who was able to get one! We hope you enjoy building it as much as we did. (And please don’t just put them on Reverb or eBay – that’s not cool.)

For those of you who were unable to get one this year: we wish we could’ve made more, but please remember that these sets are all made by one guy in Berlin, and are not a mass-produced item.

We’ll see you next year for the 4th Edition – and thank you for being a fan. We love you all.

The 5088 at Ocean Sound, Norway.

The 5088 is the culmination of Rupert Neve’s vast analog circuitry knowledge, and the only console built today with the same dedication to sound quality found in his most legendary vintage designs.

…and now it’s a custom LEGO® building set (again).

Left to right: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Editions.

Two years ago, we created a special edition 5088 Custom LEGO® Building set. We only made 150 of them, and they sold out in just a few hours.

Then in 2022, we produced a 2nd Edition with a penthouse section, upgraded nearfield monitors, and a tape machine. We made 300 of those, and they sold out in 8 minutes.

Now, we’ve made the 3rd Edition.

It’s got the same channel count as the 2nd Edition, but – since the real 5088 is also modular – this year’s configuration is different: the console is split, with each side flanking a producer desk with a computer keyboard and monitor. It also comes with four different screen stickers, depending on your DAW of choice.

It’s also got new, bigger, high-end speakers (recognize them?) with their own stands, and it’s got a tiny, adorable version of one of our personal favorite synths.

In total, the set is made up of 433 original Lego® elements – including 60 custom-printed parts – and a booklet with very thorough assembly instructions. It was made in Berlin, Germany, it costs $195 USD (€185 EUR), and it will be sold exclusively on our webstore for USA customers, and exclusively at numode.net for European customers.

Why only 300 sets, and why so expensive? Because they’re designed, created, and packaged by one guy (this guy) in Germany, and they were not mass-produced by the actual LEGO® company.

These 300 limited edition sets will go on sale at precisely 12pm EST, Monday 12/18/23. Mark your calendars – they may go fast.

We had so much fun designing this set – and if you’re one of the lucky 300 people to grab one for yourself, we know you’ll love building it.

And in the meantime…
