Atomic Sound and the 5088

Located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, Atomic Sound is a studio in which we instantly felt at home from the moment we first walked in. In addition to the incredibly gracious host and studio owner Merle Chornuk, the studio’s high ceilings, multiple skylights, tape machines, EMT 140s, and 48-input 5088 console make it somewhere we’d personally love to make a record.

Join us for a tour of this beautiful studio, and learn about the building’s history: from its start as Brooklyn’s first fire station in the 1840s to a world-class recording studio built with reclaimed wood from barns upstate (and from a rock star’s apartment renovation).

p.s. the studio’s website is undergoing a renovation of its own right now – we’ll update this post with a link when it’s done.
