Try the New OptoFET in Your Own Studio for FREE (via Access Analog)

It’s that time again: We’ve partnered with Access Analog to give you a free session with our new OptoFET Dual Stage Compressor, right in your own studio, through the technological wizardry of their Analog Matrix plugin*.

The OptoFET is a highly versatile analog compressor & wave shaper that combines a newly-designed FET compression circuit with an optimized Optical compression circuit in a single rack space, plus a unique crossover control and new GRIT and BLOOM harmonic modes.

Try it for the classic FET > Opto signal chain on vocals, flip the order to Opto > FET at the press of a switch, use the new GRIT and BLOOM harmonic modes to change the vibe up, and get creative with the Crossover control to split the compressors across the low frequencies and high frequencies for analog dual-band compression tricks. Experiment! That’s what this box is meant for.

*Of course, we encourage you to contact your favorite RND dealer for a demo in real life too, but this is a pretty neat & easy way to try one out in the meantime.

Stream real-time audio to an OptoFET using the Analog Matrix Plugin, courtesy of Access Analog and Rupert Neve Designs.

The Analog Matrix plugin remotely controls the physical knobs, buttons, and switches on the audio hardware, and also displays the hardware’s metering. Robotics are attached to each control and precisely track changes made in the plugin user interface, as well as all control automation created within the host audio application.

Can I see the robotics?

We don’t have any photos of the specific robotics for the OptoFET, but here’s a time-lapse showing the installation of the Access Analog robotics on a Master Bus Transformer, our original announcement video explaining how it all works, and some more photos of the MBT robotics.

Here’s that MBT in Colorado, shown with robotics mounted to the faceplate.
