On Tour with Thee Sacred Souls
Zac Gerig, MON
This was our first show with the RMP-D8s and the difference was huge. The color and warmth was exactly what we were looking for. Thee Sacred Souls have a 60s soul vibe and we needed some more character and that’s exactly what we got. I took most of my EQs off when we added the RMPs and it sounds significantly better than before.

First of all, I've been a long time user of the Portico II MBP, which is currently on my band bus. In addition to the dynamic control and Red Silk for color, I'm using the SFE to spread out the mid frequencies to make room for the vocals, which has been working exactly how I had envisioned. I've own this piece for at least 5 years now, and I will never be without it.
We've also been long time users of the RNDIs for keys, bass guitar and guitar. My biggest observation is how it smooths out the high end and makes those frequencies so much more pleasant to work with. We own all of these DI boxes and they go with us everywhere in the world.
The RMP-D8s were a long-time goal of mine with this band, knowing that there was a good chance it would be the final piece of the puzzle, and that they were and then some! I can't stress enough the tonal quality that we gained from using these, especially in the low mids and highs. I put so much of my top end back on every single channel and dipped far less of the low mids, where I was usually trying to control the harshness of a source or to clean up some of the mud, all of those frequencies we're useable again.
I was telling our A2 that it literally felt like every channel had a warm blanket around it, making for a very comfortable and smooth listening experience out front. I can't stress this enough, the difference wasn't subtle, it was genuinely a big leap forward in sonic quality. I don't want to do a show without them ever again.
