It Was 20 Years Ago Today: Tape Op Reviews the First Rupert Neve Designs Mic Preamp
“I first compared it to an all-original 1073 in mint condition…I couldn't remember hearing such a beautiful, euphonic sound from the M 160 / 1073 combination. It was really amazing. My first thought was that it sounded so great that there was no way the 5012 could beat it. When I switched preamps, the resulting sound wasn't as good. When I reached to adjust the gain, I realized that I had patched the preamps opposite to each other, and I'd been listening to the 5012 first!”

Customer Spotlight: The OctEpus
“I’m doing a full live, no sequencers, one man band project, where I play 3 instruments simultaneously. Having physical knobs and faders for volume, EQs, comps, preamps and SILK lets me slowly dial in the mood of my mix as I practice. By the time I master playing all the parts simultaneously, the mix is mostly done.”
